Ruth Tunstall Grant was an acclaimed artist, activist, and educator whose influence is continued to be felt in our artistic and civic community in the South Bay and beyond. Her unselfish service and untiring advocacy for the arts and youth inspired many creative activists and laid a foundation for Silicon Valley’s activism and growth. Tunstall Grant derived strength from family and cross-cultural friendships, honored their experiences and training, and continually built bridges. This exhibition features some of her creative work from collections across the Greater Bay Area. Tunstall Grant’s art and archives, and the conversations they spark, serve as a source for more in-depth research on her continuing influence on our South Bay creative community, which she has so enriched.

*On Saturdays, June 15, 22, and 29, the Ruth Tunstall Grant gallery space will be closed from 2pm-3:30pm for our ArtHistory classes.
