Erin Goodwin Guerrero, Uroboros, 2008, photo silkscreen on paper

The art of Erin Goodwin-Guerrero is the product of a curious and questioning mind, a restless hand, and the need to be heard, as much as seen.  Most of her painting is loaded with content that is accessible to the patient viewer.  The recent work is charged with aggressive color, yet the complex symbolism and layers of related imagery require attention and reflection to extract bits of sensible information.  Over the years, a number of themes recur in her art: boxing as a metaphor for struggle of the underdog, death as an eternal actor in human drama, the sexual/sensual undercurrent of most human ritual, the search for and abuse of the truth.  The current work revisits many of these themes with myth-making narratives and guest appearances by legendary figures from art and cultural history.

Join Erin Goodwin-Guerrero for an walk through of her works on Thursday, September 9, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Admission is free. Public is welcome.
