Fall 2018 Classes

On-site art classes are offered throughout the year in a variety of media for all ages and levels of training. Together with our professional artist/educators, students explore the creative process in a supportive and experimental environment, and all classes involve educational experiences in the museum galleries.

Finding Your Inner Artistic Voice –
An Exploration in Painting and Printmaking with Nicola Franklin

Session A: 8 week session | Ages: 10-13

Dates & Time: Mondays, Sept.17 - Nov. 5 | Time: 4-5:30PM

Fee: $135 TMA Members, $155 Non-Members

Unleash your unique creative voice through explorations in painting and printmaking. Bring technique and creativity together to express yourself freely! Begin developing your unique style and learn printing methods such as relief printing using lino blocks, stamping, and mono printing. Create exciting artworks by combining traditional painting mediums like watercolor and acrylic with an array of fun printmaking techniques. All skill levels are welcome!

Mixed Media Sampler for Young Artists – With Nicola Franklin

Session B: 8 week session | Ages: 6-9

Dates & Time: Wednesdays, Sept. 19 - Nov. 7 | Time: 4-5:30PM

Fee: $135 TMA Members, $155 Non-Members

Do you enjoy all types of artmaking? Don’t know what medium you like the best? Learn the basics of drawing, painting, printing and sculpture. Explore new mediums and get inspired by all types of art!

Fundamentals in Art for Young Artists with Breeta Toma

Session C: 8 week session | Ages: 6-9

Dates & Time: Thursdays, Sept. 20 – Nov. 8 | Time: 4-5:30PM

Fee: $135 TMA Members, $155 Non-Members

Learn about the elements and principles of art in a class specifically designed for kids! Explore different mediums and materials and have fun learning about what makes! Learn creative techniques in drawing, painting, mixed media and more!

Explorations in Clay and Ceramics

Session D: 8 week session | Ages: 6-13

Dates & Time: Saturdays, Sept. 22 – Nov. 10 | Time: 10AM-1PM

Fee: $250 TMA Members, $270 Non-Members

Get those hands muddy and dig deep with clay! Construct sculptures with a variety of handbuilding techniques such as pinch and pull, coil, and slab. Use glazes to add unique finishing touches to your bisqued pieces and watch your creations come to life! For hands-on learning, this class is for you! Projects will be fired throughout the course.
