Spring 2017 Classes

On-site art classes are offered throughout the year in a variety of media for all ages and levels of training. Together with our professional artist/educators, students explore the creative process in a supportive and experimental environment, and all classes involve educational experiences in the museum galleries.

Drawing Class

Fee: $130 TMA Members, $150 Non-Members

Continuation of our Drawing series. Students can take this spring class without having taken the fall or winter classes. In the spring class, the focus will be on honing students’ drawing skills through the use of mixed media. Some concepts include value and shading to bring depth and dimension to drawings by using different mediums such as charcoal, pencil, paint, and much more! Go from 2D to 3D with guidance from our instructor. Get ready for eight weeks of drawing fun!

For Grades: K-2
Session A: Tuesdays, 3:30-5:00 p.m., March 28 – May 23 (No class 4/11)


Mixed Media Sculpture

Fee: $130 TMA Members, $150 Non-Members

Inspired by the work of Bill Gould currently on view in the museum, students will learn to construct sculptures learning a variety of techniques to build armatures (metal frameworks). Students will work with wire, plaster, paper-maché, and recycled materials while learning to problem-solve as they assemble a variety media into 3-D. This is an eight-week class full of building and making!
